Supplies:
- Snack Size Bags
- Candy Hearts (or other small Valentine’s candy)
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Clothespins
- Pipe Cleaners/Fuzzy Sticks
- Googly Eyes
- Glue
Instructions:
Paint the clothespins shades of red, pink and purple. Let dry.
Add polka dots to the clothespins using either a stylus tool, toothpick, or the tip of a small paintbrush.
Next, glue two googly eyes on the top of each clothespin – the side that opens and closes.
Fill the snack sized Ziploc baggies with candy hearts or other small Valentine’s candy.
Split the contents of the bag into two by pushing even amounts to each side of the bag. Wrap a pipe cleaner around the center of the bag, twisting a few times.
Place the clothespin on the pipe cleaner in the middle of the snack bag. Trim the pipe cleaners if needed and curl the ends to form the butterfly’s antennae. That’s it!
Hand the clothespin candy butterfly treat bags at a Valentine’s Day party, as a classroom Valentine idea, or as a sweet candy filled surprise for your kids!
