Supplies:
- mini craft sticks
- paint
- white craft foam (or use white paint)
- mini pom poms
- ribbon/string
- paper Christmas straws
- Christmas themed stickers
- glue
- scissors
- paintbrush
Instructions:
Start by placing seven mini popsicle sticks in a row. Glue two mini craft sticks across the top and bottom to adhere the seven together.
Flip over and glue a craft stick along the top.
Next, place four mini popsicle craft sticks in a row. Cut another craft stick in half and place on to glue the four together (refer to photo).
Finish the mini houses by gluing one last popsicle stick along the bottom edge on the back side.
Add one or two coats of brown paint and let dry.
Now it’s time to decorate the mini gingerbread houses!
Trace the top of the roof onto white craft foam and cut wavy lines to create snow to hang from the rooftop. Cut another piece to go across the bottom of the roof. Glue all the snow pieces in place, trimming off any excess.
Next, cut a door shape from the white craft foam and glue onto the front of the gingerbread house.
Glue colorful red and white or thin Christmas ribbon around the door.
Cut decorative paper straws to fit along the sides of the mini house. I like the red and white paper straws because it resembles candy canes!
Glue on a mini pom pom door handle. Glue a row pom poms just below the roof to represent gum drops.
Embellish with candy and snowflake stickers.
Add a gingerbread man sticker by the door. You can always add the sticker to the craft foam and cut around it to give it a 3D look. Alternatively, cut and create a gingerbread man from brown craft foam.
Loop a piece of the red and white sting to make a hanger for the gingerbread house ornaments. Hot glue to the backside near the top.
