Painted Rock Pumpkin and Black Cat Paperweight Crafts
Here’s an easy Halloween craft to make with children this Halloween – paperweight rock crafts! You can make all kinds of painted Halloween themed rocks such as ghosts or Frankensteins. We are sharing our black cat and pumpkin paperweight craft ideas. My kids are forever playing with rocks so they were more than happy to get to paint one.
These Halloween rocks can be used as paperweights or displayed as decoration. Kids can even make a whole bunch of Halloween characters to play with.

Pumpkin Paperweight Rock Craft for Kids
Start making the paperweight by painting two coats of orange on a rock/stone. Let dry completely before moving on to the next step.
The pumpkin paperweights can be left blank or turned into jack o’ lanterns by drawing on faces. You can even make a whole set, each with a different spooky face.
My 5 yr old drew a pumpkin face on his rock with black crayon while I made one on my toddler’s using a permanent black marker. Older kids may wish to use paint to make the jack o’ lantern face.
We cut tiny sections from a green pipe cleaner, folded it in half, and the squished it together. I bent the ends up and hot glued them on. Regular white school glue works too, just be sure to put enough on and remind the kids not to pick it up by the stem.
Black Cat Rock Paperweight Craft Idea
This painted rock black cat craft is also easy to make. Start by painting two coats of black and letting dry.
Paint on an orange or pink triangle nose and white whiskers. Glue on googly eyes.
Cut two small pieces of a pipe cleaner and fold each into a small triangle shape. Glue to the top of the black rock as cat ears. That’s it!
