Easter grass everywhere is a sure thing in our home every year. The kids LOVE playing with it! I thought it would be fun to repurpose the Easter grass in a crazy hair craft.

We love our Create-a-Face drawing pad so I brought that out to use as an art prompt. The kids could use the Easter grass
to create colorful hair. They both picked one of the blank faces from the art pad and created their own person.
Give them markers, crayons, or colored pencils to add the face, shirt, and any other details. The Easter grass sticks on with regular white school glue.
I thought it was cute that they named their finished grass hair characters. They actually made this craft a few years ago and I can’t remember how they came up with the names. When I showed them these photos, they thought the names were funny. It’s kind of neat for them to see the choices they made just a few short years ago.
This repurposed Easter grass hair craft makes for a fun and silly craft time for elementary ages and preschoolers. Check out the following shredded paper craft ideas for more ways to recycle the grass from the kids’ Easter baskets:

What a fun way to use up all that leftover grass!
