I saw a craft idea for a homemade lava lamp using an empty soda bottle and thought my son would love it. When I got the baby oil out that I had, it was only a 4oz bottle – not enough for a soda bottle. I decided to try it out in an empty baby food jar instead.
First, fill with water just under halfway and add a couple drops of food coloring. Then, add glitter (I used 3 colors) and beads. Fill the rest of it with the baby oil leaving a small space at the top. Secure the lid with strong enough glue or hot glue it on. It would also look cute with ribbon hot glued around the edge of the lid.
