Next, I used Quilt Batting to cover the top & bottom of the case with hot glue. No need to do the edges for this part. The quilt batting was super thick, so I tore it into 2 thinner pieces.
For this next step, you start at one of the front edges (do the sides last). Put a little bit of hot glue on and then place one edge of the fabric on keeping in mind that you don’t want it too close to the edge & definitely not over hanging (it will not snap shut otherwise). Next, wrap the fabric around to the back end and hot glue in place there. Stretch the fabric to the front, bottom end and cut off any excess fabric before gluing in place. Finish by gluing down the sides. You may want to trim the corners a little before gluing in place.
Now for the ribbon! I used a thicker, brown ribbon 1st. I hot glued it in a strip going around the case vertically- I have also seen it placed horizontally. Then, I glued a smaller, off-white ribbon over the top of that. Around the edges, I used a smaller brown ribbon. Make sure to glue just a little bit at a time so it doesn’t dry up on you and again, keeping away from the very edge (no overhanging). I did ribbon around all the edges, but next time I am going to leave it off in the back. Instead, do a U-turn with the ribbon when you get to the back corners.
