Craft & Play with a Paper Bag Penguin Puppet + Cute Book!
As you may already know, penguins are a big thing in our household. They’re so cute and cuddly! In this post we are sharing how to make a paper bag penguin puppet craft and a cute book about penguins. The puppet makes a fun way to retell the story, If You Were a Penguin, or any other penguin book!

You could swim really fast and toboggan on ice.
Sing a happy duet, once or twice.
You could live on land but dive under the sea.
There’s a lot penguins can do, just like you and me!
Cute story for ages 3-7 about penguins. The book invites you to imagine what it would be like if you were a penguin. Would you swim in the ocean, play, eat, toboggan and more?
Paper Bag Penguin
Supplies Needed:
- paper lunch bag
- jumbo googly eyes
- orange craft foam
- black paint
- white construction paper
- scissors
- glue
- paintbrush
Instructions:
1. Start by painting the paper bag with black paint. We did two coats with drying time in between.
2. Cut a white oval-like shape from the construction paper, it should be just a little small than the paper bag. Glue in place.
3. Add the googly eyes.
4. Cut a triangle from orange craft foam or construction paper. Glue it under the eyes.
Now your penguin puppet is ready to be played with! Besides retelling your favorite penguin book, you could put on a puppet show or even make more paper bag puppets to play with siblings or friends!
