Clock Inspired New Year’s Party with Kids
Every year we do a Countdown to Noon Year’s Party with our friends. This year one of our friends is working so we celebrated a day earlier instead. My kids and I made fun party bags to hand out at this year’s New Year’s party. We also made 2014 Clock Juice Boxes to take with as well. You can see how we made these kid-friendly New year’s drinks by heading over to our craft blogger post on the Gummy Lump Toys blog.
Here is how we made the New Year’s Party Favor Bags:
We used colored paper bags but brown paper lunch bags would also work. I traced circles on white construction paper and lightly wrote the numbers on with a pencil. My son used a black marker to write over everything. Little Sister helped me glue the clock faces on to the bags. Big Brother wrote ‘Happy New Year’s at the bottom and insisted on writing everyone’s names on the backs. I used school glue to write ‘2014’ and then we sprinkled silver glitter over them. Thank you CraftProjectIdeas.com for supplying us with the awesome glitter we used to make these crafts.
What’s in the party bags?:
- Glow Sticks
- Crazy Straws
- Mini Recorders
- party Blowers
- Balloon
- Fruit Snacks
- New Year’s Kisses – Hershey Kisses

How to make the Clock Cupcakes
The clock cupcakes are so simple to make. I bought plain frosted cupcakes from the grocery store. The numbers are written on with black decorating gel. I placed them around a silver platter that I purchased from the dollar store so that it resembled a clock. The clocks hands are just strips of black construction paper.
