For this project, find anything around the house that you could make a texture painting with: I used a dish sponge, an old mascara wand (washed), and a Q-tip. Some other ideas are: an old toothbrush, feathers, cotton balls, makeup sponges, etc.
First, my son sponge painted pink on a piece of paper.
Next, I gave him green paint and an old mascara wand.
After he was through with the green paint, I gave him blue paint and a Q-tip to add another texture. This one was his favorite!
I had a monkey stamp that I bought from Dollar Tree and thought it would be the perfect finishing touch to his project. I put the ink on for him and let him stamp away.
A great way for toddlers to explore different textures while having fun!
