The holidays are coming up quick (too quick) and you may be wondering how you will keep the kids busy during their Winter break from school. Or perhaps you are hosting guests over the holidays and are looking for fun ways to entertain them. Here are some great last minute ideas you can find on Amazon that will help put your worries at bay so you can be confident that holiday guests or bored kids will be entertained.
Catch Phrase
For a fun game that’s great for ages 12+ I recommended Catch Phrase. This was my favorite game to play back when I used to do game nights with friends. It makes a fun family game too!
Catch Phrase is a fun game that challenges teams to guess words and phrases. It’s engaging, competitive and sure to create laughs! It also makes a great bonding experience.Your kids can also enjoy playing it with their friends over Winter break, plus it makes the perfect holiday party activity!

Fire TV Stick 4k with Alexa Voice Remote
Movie nights are a favorite family pastime that can also be enjoyed with the kids’ friends or guests staying with you over Christmas. With Fire TV Stick 4k with Alexa Voice Remote you can choose from 500,000 movies and TV episodes! You’ll find popular streaming services available such as Netflix and Hulu and, of course, Prime Video. If you have a Prime membership, your Fire TV Stick will already come with Prime Video that’s associated with your account. While some require a subscription, there are also free ones available. Tubi TV has a huge list of holiday movies and family movies that are free to watch (with ads).
There’s a Top Free Games section where you can download games such as Crossy Road and Hangman. By accessing your Amazon Cloud drive, you can share photos with family that’s visiting from out of state. This is something my uncle always enjoys doing on holidays, but always by connecting his camera.

There are more fun ways to use it for entertaining, but first I want to tell you about the Echo Dot.
Echo Dot
The Echo Dot is a voice-controlled speaker that allows you to do so many things. Plus it sounds good! Check the weather or traffic, manage your shopping list, and set the timer for your Christmas dinner. There is a HUGE list of skills via the Amazon website that you can enable.
Use your Echo Dot or Fire TV Stick to listen to music, radio, and podcasts. You can stream music with Pandora, Spotify, and more. I was surprised by all the music choices. I have found lots of holiday playlists and stations on the available music services – perfect to play in the background at your holiday party! We use Amazon Music regularly. Each family member has their own playlists.
With both the Echo Dot and the Fire TV Stick, you can do many more things with Alexa. By enabling Animal Yoga or Animal Workout, you can have the kids burning up energy while stuck indoors. For kids ages 5-12, try the Amazon Storytime skill. Perfect for the kids who are too excited to sleep because of all the holiday fun or have a hard time sleeping somewhere other than their home.
Another fun feature perfect for holiday entertaining is playing games and trivia right on the TV screen by asking Alexa with your voice remote or playing games with the Echo Dot. Just visit the Alexa Skills selection to find games like Jeopardy, Kids Quiz, Holiday Song Quiz, Heads Up and more. My kids especially enjoy the trivia.

Stress Free Holiday Gifting
Besides entertaining your guests and bored kids, these items also make awesome stocking stuffers/gifts suitable for many different ages. We recently purchased this Paper & Foil Wrapping Paper Bundle which comes with four rolls that are double-sided. I love how this style of wrapping paper can be used decoratively. Even though there are 8 patterns, they all coordinate together. To dress up the gifts, I plan to use our giant bag of holiday bows.
Any wrapping paper that’s unused can be stored in this Gift Wrap Organizer to keep everything neat and tidy to store for future use.
Every year around this time, I am especially thankful for my Amazon Prime membership. Knowing that I can rely on the vast selection and best-ever deals on my own time from the comfort of my home helps me to not get stressed out during this time, and instead enjoy the festivities.
Plus, Amazon Prime members can get free same-day delivery and one-day shipping in 10,000 cities and towns on three million items this holiday season. If you’re not a Prime member, don’t worry – right now everyone in the U.S. can enjoy free shipping through December 18 for orders that arrive in time for Christmas with no minimum purchase amount.
