Snow Sensory Activity
My little guy had a BLAST with this Snow Sensory Activity! I originally saw this idea over at Tired, Need Sleep…. stop over there and take a look at her version as well as finding a way to have your kids pretend to go ice skating in the house. We took my son sledding for the 1st time this past Monday so I thought this would be a great activity for him to have fun with. There is no snow where we live so we had to drive up to the mountains! He was so excited when we opened the door and he saw so much snow!
Back to the Snow Sensory Activity…. the “snow” is actually shaving cream. I used his sled to place it in because I want to get as much use out of it as I can considering that we don’t live in a winter climate. You could also use a smaller container like the one you can see at Tired, Need Sleep. I placed the sled on a white blanket (pretend snow) which helped catch the mess since I knew that mopping was not something I felt like doing that day! I gave him spoons, a measuring cup, and his little cars to play with in the snow…. his favorite part was smearing it all around the sled. At one point, he kept clapping his hands together and making it snow (little blobs of shaving cream would shoot out everywhere).
How Fun!
Neat! I have to try this since we are learning about snow and planning to drive up the mountains where we live for a trip to the snow soon.
I think its great you incorporated a sled into the project. Very fun!
Looks like he had a good time! 🙂
so much fun! Great idea!
Love it! I am sure he had a blast!
So much fun, add just a drop of food colouring too and let him mix it in to extend the shaving cream fun. Sometimes I wish we lived in a cold, snowy climate too.
Shaving cream is always a favorite at my house and is a great way to have the kids clean the counters.
