Mario Kart Playdate +a DIY Color-your-own T-shirt tutorial
My son has been obsessed with Mario Kart for the longest time now. Last week he had a Mario kart playdate at our home. He invited 2 of his friends who also love playing the game. As a surprise, I made a DIY version of a Color-Your-Own T-shirt with their favorite game characters on it. I have made these in the past and they have always been a huge hit. It’s easy, fun, cheap, and no drawing skills are needed!

Supplies Needed:
- white t-shirts in the sizes needed
- Fabric paint, I use the Tulip 6-Pack Slick 3D Fashion Paints
- Coloring page or print one
- Cardboard
- washable markers
How to make the Mario Kart DIY Coloring Shirts:
Choose a design – coloring pages that are simple without a lot of detail work best. I browsed the web to find Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi coloring pages that I could print for free. They are each kids favorite character.
Cut the cardboard into a rectangle small enough to fit inside each shirt. This is so the paint doesn’t leak through to the other side. Tape your design to the top of the cardboard, then slide it inside and move it around until it is a position that you like. I tucked the shirt underneath the cardboard to help prevent accidental paint marks but this part is optional.
Using the fabric paint, trace your design. You will want to move in a not-too-slow pace otherwise it will be more jagged verses a nice, straight outline.
Set aside to dry for at least 4+ hours. After the black fabric paint has dried, then you can wash it in the washing machine and all the marker will come right off.
Kids can have fun coloring their shirts over and over again using washable markers!
