I love being able to make my baby girl cute things. These are some Butterfly Hair Clips I made for her- they are so simple to make! I found the butterflies at Dollar Tree (3 for a dollar); I think I have seen similar at Wal-Mart. The double prong metal hair clips are from Sally’s Beauty Supply. They come in a box for a few dollars- I think I paid $2 for 20 and I think a box of 100 cost about $5.
Supplies needed:
Butterfly or something similar
matching ribbon
double or single prong hair clip
hot glue gun
lighter
shelf liner (optional- I was told it helps grip the hair to hold it in place better)
-
Measure the amount of ribbon you need by placing it around the hair clip. I start on the top of the inside, then wrap it over the top of the outside, then around the pincher part, and just a little on the underside.
-
Light the ends of the ribbon to prevent fraying.
-
Hot glue it into place – again, I start on the top of the inside, then around the top of the outside, and finishing underneath.
-
Hot glue the butterfly on top (I had to cut wire off the butterflies first, yours may or may not have this).
-
Cut a small piece of shelf liner into a square shape and hot glue it onto the top of the inside.
-
Now it’s ready to make a little girl’s hair pretty!
Here are some cute photos of her wearing the hair clip during her 6 month photo shoot:

I love this. That pink butterfly <a href="http://www.hairclippy.com/hair-clips" title="hair clip" rel="nofollow">hair clip</a> is so beautiful in her. Her cuteness is overflowing.
