Ingredients:
Utz Old Fashioned Pretzel Rods, 27 oz BarrelWilton Black Gel Tube, 0.75 Oz.
Wilton Dark Green Candy Melts, 12-Ounce
Wilton Candy Eyeballs,0.88 oz,Count of 50
Directions:
1. Pour the bag of green Candy Melts into a saucepan. Use the medium-low heat setting to slowly melt the candy chocolate.
2. Pour the melted candy melts into a tall glass. Take a pretzel rod and dip it into the tall glass. Let the excess drip off and then place the pretzel rod onto a cookie sheet that is lined with wax paper.
3. Repeat this process with the remaining pretzels. Let them harden for a minute and then move the pretzels to a second cookie sheet lined with wax paper. This is to help prevent the pretzel rods from getting a blob of melted chocolate stuck to the back side. Let harden for a bit longer.
4. Next, cut one black Twizzlers piece in half and then cut the half into smaller pieces. These will be Frankenstein’s neck bolts. If you are not a fan of black licorice, you could substitute using mini brown M&M’s.
5. Dip a toothpick into the melted candy melts. Dab a small amount onto one end of the cut pieces of Twizzlers. Place one on each side of Frankenstein’s neck as bolts.
6. Next, use the toothpick to add the melted candy to the back side of the candy eyes. Place two eyes on. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all the pretzel rods have eyes and bolts.
7. Draw on a mouth and Frankenstein’s iconic stitched scar using black gel icing.
8. To finish, use the black gel icing to draw on Frankenstein’s hair. Repeat with the remaining pretzel rods.
These fun chocolate dipped Frankenstein pretzel rods are sure to wow the kids and are easy-to-make. Kids can have fun making them with you! For another fun idea, check out this adorable handprint Frankie!
