Do you collect Box Tops for Education? Big Brother has been collecting them since kindergarten. If not familiar with the program, Box Tops for Education is one of America’s largest school earnings loyalty program. It’s a great way to get the kids involved in a project that benefits a school. It also teaches them the importance of giving and working together on the same goal. These are all things that our family values.
Collecting is simple!
Finding the Box Tops is easy since they are on many of the products we already purchase such as our usual cereals and yogurts. Right now you can find Bonus Box Tops on participating products for a limited time, only at Walmart! Instead of just 1, you get 5 Box Tops on specially marked packages.
Collecting is fun!
Last year my little guy got straight into competition mode since his 1st grade teacher had the boys compete against the girls for a pizza lunch. So many times he would come home to say that so-and-so brought in 20 Box Tops so now the boys/girls are winning. It ended up being that the boys won twice and the girls once throughout the year. I love that his teacher made it exciting for them to help their school raise money for purchasing items such as new technology, books for the library, updated equipment, or anything else needed.
Big Brother is already talking about being back to school and a new class/teacher to collect with. To get him started with his 2nd grade class, our family headed to Walmart to find and buy Bonus Box Tops products. He competed against Little Sister trying to find the 5 Box Tops packaging. Whoever found the item, got to choose what flavor or variety to get! For example, my son found Go-Gurt with the bonus 5, and choose the cool cotton candy combo box. Little Sister was super excited to find the fruit shapes/snacks and predictably chose the box with the dog on it – Scooby Doo!

This is something that Big Brother loves to see and keep track of. It also makes him excited to keep clipping box tops since the graph helps him to visualize how much has been given and how far until they reach the school’s goal. It also shows him how much he has given which lets him see how he contributed to the overall goal.
Want to earn money for your children’s school? It’s easy! Participating schools are eligible to receive donations from General Mills® through Box Tops.
