Printable Summer Bucket List – Fun Family Activities
Summer is such an exciting time for everyone, but especially kids. School is over for a few months, the sun is shining bright and play is the center of the universe. Even though this is exciting to think about, boredom can sink in pretty quickly. As parents, we want our kids to enjoy their summer and not just have two months full of screen time, but it can be hard to think of spur of the moment activities that everyone will enjoy. This is why we sit down and create a Summer Bucket List together!
Summer Bucket List Printable
Creating a summer bucket list is incredibly helpful for me as the family event planner. I know ahead of time things that my daughter wants to do, things that would fill her excitement bucket. I can use this list not as a calendar of pre planned events, but for the inspiration list. When I wake up in the morning, I can evaluate our day for how much dedicated play time we will have, and choose an activity accordingly. Some days we will have time for sidewalk chalk while other times we may have time for something crafty that takes a whole afternoon.
What to Include on the Bucket List – Choosing Activities.
While the purpose of the bucket list is partially to make my job as family event coordinator easier, I also feel the desperate need to ensure my daughter has the best summer ever. The only way to do this is to ask her opinion. I give her a heads up, a couple days before, so she can start thinking about it. She likes to add big things like going to Six Flags or driving to the beach (we’re about 2 hours away), but she also thinks of things like going to the local park, going to story time at the library or going on play date with her BFFs.
We like to include hands-on activities that will keep her brain moving and thinking in a productive way too. Some of our favorite ideas include playing with playdough, getting creative with nature, or playing with homemade snow
Creating a Summer Bucket List isn’t meant to be complicated. It is meant to ensure that everyone feels included, that their idea of a good summer is heard, and that summer is full of exciting, active, and hands on activities.
