My son’s favorite song right now is “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” so I thought it would be fun to do a craft having to do with the song. I did a search on the Internet and found a fun craft so I decided to give it a try.
First, tape down a piece of white paper. I also placed newspaper down since my son is only 20 months old and therefore makes quite a mess! Then I wrote the song title with crayon and colored white stars all over using a white crayon.
I took black poster paint and diluted it with water and let my son start painting it.
A couple minutes later, white stars started to magically appear on the paper! He loved it and started to do the hand motions for the song (he doesn’t talk yet).
Having the normal attention span of a toddler, he soon got bored with painting. He had gotten pretty far but I still wanted to finish it, so I placed my hand over his and helped him finish painting it.
Then, I took a paper towel and dabbed the areas where he had put too much paint. After it dried, I placed it on a piece of yellow construction paper. Of course we had to sing the song then while holding the picture! The big smile on his face was the best part of the whole experience.
