Disney’s Genie Inspired Craft Idea
Let’s work on the Genie craft first (it’s the rectangle with the lamp at the bottom). Cut out the large rectangle template and trace it on blue paper.
Cut Genie’s hair out of the template, trace it on black paper. Now cut the blue rectangle and the black hair.
Take the large rectangle template again and cut out the middle strip, trace it on red paper and cut it out.
Color the Genie’s lamp yellow and cut it out as well.
Now it’s time to assemble. Glue the yellow lamp to the bottom-center of the blue rectangle. The red strip can be glued right above the lamp. Glue the hair to a small yellow rectangle and glue the hair to the top of the large blue rectangle.
Add two googly eyes, a smile, and a goatee to make the face.
To finish the Genie craft, add some glue to the back of the blue rectangle and secure it to the cardboard tube.
Craft Tip: Use a couple clothespins to keep it in place while it dries.
Cardboard Tube Aladdin Craft Instructions
Let’s create the Aladdin cardboard tube craft next. The Aladdin pieces are (from top to bottom): a thin rectangle for the hair, rectangle for the face, rectangle for the vest, and a larger rectangle for the pants. The tiny square off to the side is for Aladdin’s hat.
Cut the template pieces and trace the thin rectangle on black (hair), the medium rectangle on purple (vest), the larger rectangle on white (pants), and the hat square on red. Once you have traced all the pieces, cut everything out. Now you are ready to assemble the Aladdin craft!
Grab the cardboard tube and glue the white rectangle at the bottom, leave a little space to act like feet. Then the purple rectangle comes next, leaving a space in the middle to mimic the open vest that Aladdin wears.
At the top, glue the black hair rectangle with the red square hat in the middle.
Finish off the Aladdin cardboard tube craft with some googly eyes and a sly smile.
Princess Jasmine Craft Tutorial
Finally, the Princess Jasmine craft is next! Use the same technique as the other cardboard tube Aladdin crafts: cut the template, trace it on the colored paper, cut the colored paper out.
The pieces for Princess Jasmine are: Top skinny hair rectangle (trace and cut out of black paper), space for the face, v shaped shirt rectangle (trace and cut out of light blue paper), space for her belly, larger pants rectangle (trace and cut out of light blue paper), skinny rectangle at the bottom is for her shoes (trace and cut out of yellow paper), and the wavy piece to the side is her braid (trace and cut out of black paper).
You will also need a couple of other pieces as well that do not have a template. Cut a super skinny, long rectangle out of the light blue paper and one out of yellow paper. Also use a hole punch to make two circles, one from light blue paper and one from yellow paper. Now we are ready to assemble to Princess Jasmine craft!
Start by gluing the yellow rectangle shoes to the bottom of the cardboard tube. Next add the larger light blue pants. Then glue the v-shaped light blue shirt on, making sure to leave a little space for Princess Jasmine’s belly.
Glue the black hair strip around the top of the cardboard tube followed by the hair braid off to one side. Just add a little glue to the top of the braid and sneak it under the hair rectangle.
Every Princess needs accessories, so give Jasmine a headband by adding the skinny, light blue rectangle around her hair with the blue dot in the middle. Next, the yellow dots become earrings when glued to the sides of her face. Top off the look with the skinny yellow paper strip to create a necklace.
To finish the cardboard tube Princess Jasmine craft, add googly eyes and draw on eyelashes and a red smile.
The Aladdin character crafts from cardboard tubes are complete!
If your little crafters are a bit young for scissors, the templates can also be colored instead of using construction paper. This was they are able to help with the fun of making the cute Disney movie characters.
