Fly Into Learning Sight Words Printable
In search of an engaging way to teach simple sight words to your preschooler or practice spelling with your kindergartner? Today we are sharing a fun Fly Into Learning Sight Words printable activity. It can be used on a cookie sheet or refrigerator with magnetic letters or at the kitchen table with Scrabble letter tiles. Another way is to use the alphabet printable (linked below) and cut the letters into paper squares.
This learning activity can easily be taken on a road trip to help fight boredom. There are tons of other cookie sheet activity ideas that can changed out with the sight words activity. Just remember to take a little baggie or small container with to place the letter magnets in so they don’t get lost.

Supplies:
- Uppercase Lowercase Letter Squares (Alternatively use scrabble tiles or cut the printable without magnet sheets)
- Fly Into Learning Sight Words
- Scissors or Paper Cutter
- Xyron Creative Station
& Laminate/Magnet Cartridge
- Cookie Sheet
How to Play:
Line up all the letters on the cookie sheet. Cut the bird printable in half along the black line. Place one on the tray. For now, we are just using the 3-letter box sheet.
Have your preschooler spell any 3-letter words they know or start them off with one, such as “cat.” Time to rhyme! As an example, ask them to spell rat, sat, bat and so on by sounding out the words and asking which letter it sounds like (first letter). This would be easy for an older brother or sister to do along with them, helping them learn. Once they master the 3-letter boxes, move onto the 4-letter boxes sheet.
Write or print a list of 3-letter or 4-letter words for them to look at and spell on the cookie sheet.
