K Cup Craft: Egg Carton Flowers in a Vase
It’s time for another crafty challenge with our blog friends! This time we are getting creative with egg cartons. Before you throw away your empty egg cartons, consider saving them too make egg carton flowers in a vase! If you happen to be looking for a fun k cup craft, recycle them into vases. Alternatively, you could use things like an empty yogurt container or even a cardboard tube.
How to make the Egg Carton Flowers
To make the flowers like we did, you will need a clear egg carton instead of the cardboard one. Have the kids tear or cut pieces of tissue paper in all different colors and patterns.
Paint the insides with glue. If you are doing the entire egg carton, it would probably be best to to half at a time to ensure that the glue doesn’t dry.
Add the pieces of tissue paper. It’s okay to overlap them. When all the carton sections are covered, paint back over it with the glue (or Mod Podge).
Once dry, cut the egg carton into sections. Make slits in the sides. Fold them down or let the kids smush them upside down on the table. We varied the amount of space between each cut. Leave the ends as a flat edge or cut them so they are curved or any other way you think it would look good.
How to make the K Cup Vase
Take an empty and clean k cup/coffee pod and decorate it with washi tape. You could also paint it, use permanent markers, or decorate it with stickers.
Add the flowers to the vase! You may need to add something to weigh it down such as a small stone. Add tissue paper or anything else you can think of to hide everything.
These egg carton flowers will brighten up the home and make it look cheerful. I love how ours look outside but it has been super windy lately. Instead, we have them in the window sill and the stained glass look makes them extra pretty with the sunshine peeking through.
