Today, my son & I did a Marble Painting Activity together, Christmas-themed of course!
I gave him red & green paint, as well as 2 marbles. I also placed a piece of paper inside a casserole dish. My son thought it was so neat to pick the casserole dish up & roll the marbles around! He even liked rolling the marbles by hand.
Variation: Place dots of paint on the paper instead of dipping the marbles. We tried both ways, but my little guy preferred to dip the marbles in the paint himself.
We made 2 sheets total.
I made 3 different crafts with the 2 sheets. I turned one into the Peppermint Candy you see at the beginning of this post. I just traced a small paper plate to make the circle and cut 2 triangles for the wrapper. With the 2nd sheet, I made Candy Canes in 3 different sizes. My son likes to compare sizes (little, big, & bigger).
Before I made the Peppermint Candy Craft, I first cut out a section that would fit on an empty toilet paper roll. I covered the outside with the painted paper and on the inside, I taped red tissue paper. I did this by placing strips of rolled-up tape along the inside of the roll and then pressing the tissue paper to it. You want the tissue paper to be longer than the roll. Now it’s a cute Candy Holder! I put 4 mini candy canes inside and then used curling ribbon to tie the ends shut.
I plan to use his Toilet Paper Roll Candy Holder as a stocking stuffer.
Very cute! Last year we did something similar with a salad spinner. I like the idea of using a marble.
