St Patrick’s Day Craft: Rainbow Gold Coin Crayon Rubbings
Little Sister loves rainbows! She was playing with her gold coins the other day and I thought it would be fun for her to do coin rubbings with them. To make it more fun, we turned it into a St. Patrick’s Day craft that involved making rainbow gold coin crayon rubbings!
How to make the Rainbow Gold Coin Crayon Rubbings
You will need jumbo paper and 6 gold coins for this project. Tape the coins in a single row either to the table or the cardboard part of the paper pad (that your jumbo paper is from).
Have the child use a red crayon sideways to color over the coins. My daughter was fascinated seeing the coins magically appear and excitedly did the rest! Slide the paper a little so the taped coins are next to the red ones. This time, use an orange crayon. Repeat these steps with the rest of the colors of the rainbow.
Draw a pot at the end of the rainbow. Have the child color or paint it black. Little Sister also chose to draw a leprechaun.
Glue crumpled gold or yellow tissue paper on as gold coins inside the pot. Yellow buttons, sequins, or fingerprints are a few other ways you could make the gold coins. At the top of the rainbow she glued glittery craft foam shamrocks, which I purchased from Dollar Tree last year.
We have our finished St Patrick’s Day rainbow gold coin rubbings art project hanging up on the wall. I love how cheerful-looking it is!
