You could do this activity a few different ways. Here’s how we did ours:
Find a small toy for each letter of the alphabet that can fit inside the eggs. If you can’t find an item for a certain letter, you could print a tiny picture or draw something. I did this for ‘umbrella’. For the letter ‘O’, I cut an oval shape and for the letter ‘Y’ I placed a yellow item in an egg.
Hide the eggs around the home or outdoors. Find a designated spot for the Easter Egg Alphabet Hunt Printable.
Have the child collect the Easter eggs they find either one at a time or all at once.
Open the eggs, one at a time, and your preschooler should decide what letter it starts with. Have them sound out the word slowly if they don’t get it at first. Place the small toy on the corresponding letter box.
Do this until they find all the eggs and their correct spot on the printable sheet. They can do this over and over again trying a different way or finding different items.
