Top Posts of 2014: Crafts, Activities, and Smoothies!
We had a blast crafting, playing, learning, eating creative foods, and drinking smoothies in 2014! Our 1st post for the new year is going to take a look back at all the fun things that happened and sharing the top viewed posts for each month that were written in 2014. I’m actually surprised by a few of them!
This past year, we also met and connected with many new bloggers and reconnected with ones we have been following and interacting with for a few years. Some of the new things we started this year is the weekly Bewitchin’ Projects Linky and our Creative Preschool Collaboration with 4 other awesome mommies!
Another big thing that happened this year was moving this blog and our other blog, Fun Handprint Art, off of Blogger and into self-hosted WordPress sites. It was a bit scary and exciting all at the same time! I am still tweaking the layouts and a few other things, but I absolutely adore the new look this blog got this year thanks to the super talented Cami from Titi Crafty and TC Designs.
Top Posts of 2014
January: DIY Valentine’s Day Candle or Treat Holder We upcycled baby food jars for this craft.
February: Balloon Activities for the Whole Family – My kids loved the balloon ninjas game and balloon water fountain!
March: Learning with Bead Sensory Bins – Lots of ways to play and learn! Kids will practice fine motor skills, patterning, sorting, creativity, open-ended play, and use it as a sight words activity.
April: Spring Sensory Bag – toddlers and preschoolers will love exploring and squishing this! Plus, it’s easy enough for them to help make. It also travels easily to keep little ones busy while out and about.
May: Water Balloon Games for Kids – 2 different games, great way to stay cool and have fun in the Summer time.
June: Butterfly Busy Bag Learning Activities– so much learning for preschoolers all in one Ziploc bag! These butterfly counting cards are easy and inexpensive to make. Preschool aged children can stay busy counting to ten, patterning, and sorting. They will practice number recognition, shapes, and colors.
July: Cherry Vanilla Smoothie Recipe for Kids – Yum! These were so good that we also made popsicles with the same recipe.
August: Back to School with Chester the Raccoon Puppets – We love Chester the Raccoon! Make these puppets to go along with The Kissing Hand or any of the adorable books from the series.
October: Monster Math and Science Experiment – most popular of the year! Our inflating balloon monster science experiment was a huge hit with my kids. My preschooler also used fun googly eye printables to do monster math and a letter M activity.
November: Turkey Crafts for Preschoolers – we love handprint art! I adore the way our handprint turkey with feathers turned out. My 3 year old also had a blast with the turkey feather counting project we made together.
December: Christmas Smoothie Recipe – We had several new Christmas craft posts this year, but the Christmas smoothie ended up being the most viewed post for December. We had fun dressing it up a bit to make it look more festive, but it’s still perfect for any time of the year!
I remember your blog from before you got it redone Amanda. I think I had hopped on over from SITS. Your blog gives so much fun and inspiration. Thank you for the smoothie recipes. Pinning them all. 🙂 Have a Happy New Year!
Thanks Aysh! I have been loving getting to know you this past month 🙂 Happy New Year to you too!
