Fun with Rice Sensory Craft
This is an activity/craft I did with my son the day before moving day ~ we still aren’t quite settled into our new place, but really hope to be soon. It’s not as nice as the last place, but is bigger with lots of places for storage. Yay! I can finally be more organized (one of my main goals for the year!)….. I miss the days of having a basement and an attic- pretty much unheard of in the city I live in nowadays!
Back on topic – I had had some dry brown rice leftover from a brand I didn’t particularly care for and thought it would make a fun sensory activity for my son. I do have to warn you that it is a bit messy, but nothing a vacuum can’t take care of!
I used white school glue to paint the shape of a bear’s face on purple construction paper.
I also did shapes . This was fun for him because he had no idea shapes were going to appear!
He made his own creation by painting the glue on himself.
He really got into this rice activity! I could tell this was one of the most fun craft activities we have done to date. He loved piling the rice on and letting it slip through his fingers. I had one upset little boy when I told him we were all done and it was time to clean up.
This is sooo cool! Love it! Will do with Mouse before my next cleaning day *LOL* – will link back!
That is a fun project. I may have to use that in my class.
