Paper Plate Snake Crafts and Book
We made 2 different Paper Plate Snake Crafts and read a story to go with it.
My son painted 2 paper plates, 1 with green paint and 1 with orange paint. After it finished drying, I drew the snake’s body starting with the tail and working my way inward so that I finished with it’s head.
We used googly eyes and you could add a tongue as well. My son decorated the green snake with green and gold sequins.
The orange snake is my favorite.
I gave my son a sponged dipped half in red and half in yellow to dab all over creating snake skin. Make sure to dab off any excess paint on a different piece of paper 1st before pressing it down of the snake craft.
I love how the sponge made it look!
We read the book Snakes! by David T. Greenburg
. This is a funny story about a boy and his dog who aren’t scared of anything except snakes. The snakes are everywhere doing all kinds of silly things. I love how everything rhymes and is almost song-like. The illustrations are perfect for my 3 year old, especially all the emotions being portrayed- he thinks it’s funny! Some of the words are kind of big and not understandable for the age group this book is targeted towards, but it is still a cute story anyway.
I love the orange one too! Sounds like a neat book too.
