To make this Tie Dye Coffee Filter Butterfly, grab a regular-sized coffee filter and let your child color it with markers. The more it is colored, the better. My son is still in the scribbling stage so I also colored one along with him so he could see the colors blend together more clearly. When we finished, I took the colored coffee filters and placed them in the bath tub. I grabbed a spray bottle and helped my son spray them with water. It was so fun to see his reaction when he saw the colors blend together- he kept saying “Oh wow!”
When it finished drying, I scrunched it up and placed a clothespin in the middle of it (you could also color the clothespin if you wanted). To complete the butterfly, I cut a pipe cleaner, bent it in half, and placed it in the clothespin for antennas. So cute when it’s finished!
