Peppermint Candy Christmas Treats Shaped Like Gingerbread Men
Silicone molds can be used for so many different things and come in fun designs. We love our pumpkin and star-shaped ones and have usued them to make frozen smoothie bites. For a non-frozen treat, try making something with candy melts like these peppermint candy Christmas treats – YUM! They are made using a gingerbread men silicone mold with candy melts and candy canes.

Directions:
Step 1 – Melt half the white candy melts in the microwave. Start with 30 seconds, stir, then do another 30 seconds.
Step 2 – Pour the white candy into each gingerbread man evenly. Lift and drop the mold to help the candy settle. You might need to help the melted candy into the hands and feet with a toothpick or spoon.
Step 3 – Place the mold in the freezer to harden up. It shouldn’t take long – 30 minutes at the most.
Step 4 – Crush 2 candy canes inside a ziplock bag.
Step 5 – Heat up the other half of the white candy melts. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes into the molds and top with the rest of the white candy melts.
Step 6 – Place the mold back in the freezer to harden.
Step 7 – Carefully remove the gingerbread men from the molds. Luckily, since it is a silicone mold, it is very easy to pop them out!
Step 8 – Melt a small anount of the red and green candy melts in separate bowls. You really don’t need a lot – just a few wafers of each color.
Step 9 – Use a toothpick to gently add the details – frosting/ribbons on their wrists and ankles, buttons, bow ties, eyes and a mouth.
