Supplies:
- red, green, and blue acrylic paint
- paintbrushes
- empty k cup
Instructions:
1. Paint the entire k cup with blue blue paint; 1-2 coats. Let dry. With adult supervision, a hair dryer can be used on cool setting to speed the dry time between coats. If using acrylic paint, be sure to have the child wear an art smock and cover your surface well. It isn’t washable. Alternatively, have them use markers to color it instead.
2. Using green paint, dab on the shape of the continents. (I searched online for Earth images to use as inspiration)
3. Now paint a small red heart. Allow it to dry and you’re done!

This weeks theme is: Earth and the featured book is The Earth Book by Todd Parr.
“I take care of the earth because I know I can do little things every day to make a BIG difference…”
This book is eco-friendly. It uses recycled materials and soy ink. You can show it to your kids as an example of how things that are made from recycled materials, can look pretty much the same as new materials.
It features simple illustrations with different ways we can be kind to the earth. It includes small changes even kids can do to help make a difference such as turning off lwater while brushing teeth.
