K-cup Craft: Chip from Beauty and the Beast
Disney princesses are some of my daughter’s favorite things to talk about. We have been busy making crafts inspired by the movies and books my daughter chooses from the library every time we go. I can’t even remember the last time we left the library without a princess book. One of the character she likes from Beauty and the Beast is the little teacup named Chip. We are doing a Disney-inspired challenge with a handful of other bloggers and decided to make Chip from Beauty and the Beast craft using a k-cup. It’s easy enough for some younger kids to make with an adult’s help.

Supplies:
- k-cup or similar (from a Keurig brewer)
- soda bottle cap
- paint
- paintbrush
- permanent black marker
- yellow pipe cleaner
- hot glue gun
Instructions:
Paint 2 small blue circles for the eyes on the k-cup. If you don’t have a k-kup from a Keurig, you could make a bigger version with a paper or styrofoam cup.
Paint the top and rim of the k-cup with yellow. Let dry.
While it’s drying, paint or color the bottle cap with the purple, pink, and blue design.
Outline the eyes and draw a mouth and eyebrows with a black marker. Outline the designs you made on the bottle cap.
Color or paint the tongue pink or red. Add a dot of white paint to the eyes.
Cut a small piece of a yellow pipe cleaner. Curve it into a teacup handle shape. Hot glue into place (where the nose would be) or use something sharp to poke 2 holes through. I used the sharp point from a compass.
Cut 2 more small sections from a yellow pipe cleaner. Hot glue one to the top of the bottle cap. Hot glue this to the bottom of the k-sup. Wrap the second pipe cleaner piece around the bottom edge of the cap. Our’s isn’t glued on and it seems pretty snug.
Don’t forget the most important part – cut a small triangle from the top edge of the cup, the chip!
My daughter loves playing tea party so this is perfect for her. We both think it’s cute! Now to figure out how to make Mrs. Potts so she can have both to play with.
