Guess the Shapes Activity & Scissors Practice
Here is a fun scissors practice activity I made for my little guy that also doubles as a shapes activity AND guessing game! It’s so simple and takes less than 10 minutes to create.
All you need to do it cut a sheet of paper into small squares. Fold those pieces in half. Draw half of a shape on each one. Have the child guess what shape is on each one. My son is 5 and has known his shapes for years so I thought he would know most of them – to my surprise he was not able to guess that many. He didn’t know what some of them were until he cut each one out and opened it to reveal the shape. He thought it was so much fun plus it got him thinking and talking in excitement about the activity both during and long after it was done.
The child could also color/decorate each shape or even make them into shape monsters with arms and legs. Take it one step further by drawing each shape monster with a different emotion and in a different color.
What a simple and AWESOME idea! I love it! I'm featuring this on The Sunday Showcase this weekend. Thank you for linking up!
Thanks Allison 🙂
