Countdown to “Noon” Year’s Party {crafts, photo booth, favors}
A couple of us got together with our kids before the New Year and had a Countdown to Noon Year’s Party like they do at our local libraries. We had finger foods & sparkling juice as well as cups & plates decorated with balloons. As a fun little centerpiece, I brought the balloon holder/weight from my son’s birthday party awhile back. It is kind of hard to see in the photo, but it is black with colorful stars & sprays- perfect as a New Year’s decoration!
Like last year, the kids decorated fun New Year’s glasses. Beforehand, I hot glued 2012 to the top of each. The foam glasses came with stickers for the kids to decorate them with.
We did our Countdown to the Noon Year using the oven timer. Each kid had Discovery Toys music shaker and party blower.
For party favors, I made each kid their own New Year’s Firecrackers. I filled a toilet paper roll with Hershey Kisses- New Year’s Kisses!– then wrapped it in tissue paper tied shut with curling ribbon.
I also made New Year’s Photo Props for the kids to use in a Photo Booth. The photo booth was just as area with silver wrapping paper taped up. I should have made 2 strips so the area could be bigger! They had mustaches, lips, smiles, hats, bow ties, a tie, a feather boa, a gold scarf, a clock, a New Year’s sign, and a 2012 sign. I will update with photos of each prop soon!
The sticks are wooden skewers that I happened to have on hand. I hot glued each cutout to a skewer. Some of them were hand-drawn and you can print mustaches & lips HERE as well as HERE. I printed the Clock from this free clip art site and the Happy New Year’s sign from HERE.
Check out the crafts my son & his friend did on New Year’s and our ones from last year for even more ideas!L
