Yummy Cherry Vanilla Smoothie
This post brought to you by TruMoo. All opinions are 100% mine.
My kids and I enjoy making smoothies together. We love trying new ingredients and combinations that we haven’t made before. Recently, we were challenged to use TruMoo milk to make a fun recipe. There is Chocolate, Vanilla, and Strawberry. I thought a Cherry Vanilla Smoothie sounded yummy!
The TruMoo milk comes in many different size options. I ended up choosing the 6-pack of the vanilla flavored ones because I thought they would be great to take along on our longer summer outings.
Here’s what’s great about their milk products:
- No artificial growth hormones
- Naturally flavored
- No high fructose corn syrup
As a mom of 2 little ones, it makes me happy when I see products that do not use the above.

Cherry Vanilla Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
Frozen Dark Sweet Cherries (Pitted)
TruMoo Vanilla Milk
Yogurt – either vanilla or cherry flavored
Whipped Cream – optional
For these smoothies, I used our Black and Decker blender since it is the perfect size to make 2. A regular sized blender would be great for whipping up a bigger batch.
Instructions:
I poured in the entire box of the TruMoo vanilla milk, which is 8oz. Next, I placed in the cherries almost to the top (be sure to leave a little space at the top). I love using frozen fruit in our smoothies because it make an awesome texture without the need for ice. It’s ends up being thick but smoother than using ice. Blend/Puree it for 1-2 minutes. Poor into cups and either serve as is or dress it up a little with whipped cream and a pinch of sugar sprinkles.
My son said it was sweet while my hubby described it as a bit tart, but still liked it a lot. After my little guy finished half of his, I decided to experiment by adding a little bit more of the milk. He said that it tasted even sweeter. So definitely add more of the milk to the recipe above if you prefer sweeter-tasting. It will also make it a bit thinner and therefore easier for little kids to drink.
When my daughter drank almost half of her smoothie, I decided to experiment again. This time I added in just a splash of extra milk to her cup and also added a couple big spoonfuls of cherry yogurt. This was so yummy! Little Sister drank it super fast while my hubby asked for more. They both loved the yogurt added in! Big Brother and I liked all 3 recipes pretty much the same.

What TruMoo flavor do you think your kids would love to try?
They have a chocolate marshmallow variety that I have been keeping my eye out for, but it hasn’t made it to my area.
what a delicious and simple way to make a smoothie!
I start every day with a smoothie. I’ll be trying this cherry one soon!
We love a great smoothie in my family so I am pinning this one to give it a try 🙂
I am never entirely sure about “vanilla” milk for some reason, but my children beg for chocolate.
I do LOVE the cherry vanilla shake idea – may adapt it with vanilla protein powder for a smoothie!
Yum! This looks delicious. We love, love, love fresh cherries!
