Painted Puppy Pumpkin – Cute Pink Princess Dog Design!
This year we decided to make the kids’ pumpkins look like their favorite animals. My daughter loves ‘doggies,’ princesses, and the color pink so we came up with a pink princess puppy pumpkin design! It made a fun mommy and me craft and an adorable Halloween decoration.
Supplies For The Painted Puppy Pumpkin:

- paint
- paintbrush
- glue
- jumbo googly eyes
- black marker
- glitter glue (or a 2nd color of paint)
- craft foam, construction paper, or felt (ears)
- crown/tiara (dollar store)
- pink fuzzy crafting boa
Our crown is from one that my daughter broke. It had the pink fluffy part on the crown. Variation: Make a crown from cardboard, cardboard tube, craft foam, construction paper, or anything else that might work.
No-carve Puppy Dog Pumpkin Instructions:
Paint the pumpkin pink or another color. We did 2 coats with lots of drying time in between (helps prevent chipping/flaking off).
We used glitter glue to paint a darker pink spot for one of the eyes. Little Sister liked using the glitter glue!
Next, glue on the jumbo googly eyes and draw on a nose and mouth.
Cut ears from craft foam, construction paper, or felt. Glue the ears on. You can choose to leave the stem on otherwise remove it.
Princess Puppy Pumpkin Decorating Idea:
The painted puppy dog pumpkin can be left as is or turn it into a pink puppy princess pumpkin!
To do this simply, glue on the crown/tiara. Our broken crown had fluffy pink material around the bottom – you can easily replicate this using small crafting boa found in ribbon section at stores.
That’s it! Pretty easy, huh? My 3 year old and I made the puppy pumpkin together. She did the painting and gluing, while I did the drawing and cutting.
