Orange Sunrise Smoothie Recipe
This Orange Sunrise Smoothie is a great way to start the school day! I made it for my so last week and he loved it saying it tasted like orange ice cream. I decided to give it a fun name to refer to in the future with my kids and even snuck a few baby carrots into it…. tee, hee!
How to make the Orange Sunrise Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
Orange Juice
Frozen Bananas (2 medium or 1 large)
About 5 Baby Carrots
Orange Yogurt
The above makes 2 smoothies using a glass/cup of similar size as the one pictured.
Blend all the ingredients together. Using frozen fruit gives it a creamy, smooth texture that is perfect for smoothies. Instead of using frozen fruit, you could add ice or just ditch the whole frozen part of the recipe.
I freeze cut up banana when I buy it at the store. All you have to do is peel it, cut it into smaller pieces, and place the pieces on top of a sheet of wax paper (I place ours on a baking sheet with a sheet of wax paper). Freeze it for several hours or overnight, then place the banana pieces in a freezer bag and place the bag back into the freezer. Now you have pre-frozen bananas for the next time you want to make a smoothie!
What’s your favorite smoothie tip? Any fun ways you’ve snuck in veggies like we did with our Orange Sunrise Smoothie?
