Fun with Legos + a Superhero Stop Motion Video
Do you remember how fun it was playing with Legos growing up? Some of my favorite memories with my brother are all the fun creations we made. Both my kids love to build with Legos and it’s heartwarming to see them do the same. It’s fun to build!
They were both super excited to receive LEGO® Super Heroes sets!
LEGO® JUNIORS (Ages 4+)
Little Sister loved spending time with me putting it together and playing with the finished pieces. She is super imaginative and found lots of different ways to use the spider web to capture the minifigures.
The picture tutorial made it easy for her to put the pieces together with little direction from me. I showed her how to count the circles in the picture to match the Lego pieces, how to know how many of each she needed, and to always make sure she matches the illustration by turning it or flipping it. She had the biggest smile and proud look every time she finished one of the illustration tutorials!
About the products:

LEGO® Super Heroes (Ages 5+)
Big Brother had a blast putting together the Batman set (The Batboat Harbor Pursuit). He couldn’t wait to make a stop motion with it. He has been on a stop motion kick lately! He is 8 years old and didn’t need any help, however, my hubby’s favorite superhero is Batman so of course he helped put it together!
Superhero Stop Motion Video
Big Brother and I made a superhero stop motion together, something he is really into lately. You can use the Lego Movie Maker or a different app on your phone. Most of the stop motion apps are simple enough for the elementary age group to figure out on their own. It’s best to use a tripod and make little movement so the images blend together smoothly. Be sure to take lots of photos! This 15 second video used 68 photos to create.
There are so many uses for Legos:
- It’s fun to build things. Anything you can imagine!
- They provide an educational experience. Following directions, math skills and more!
- They encourage imaginative play. Because #playmatters!
- Retell a story or make up one.
- STEM: build something that is functional or make a stop motion video.
Hubby prefers to only get toys like this were it challenges them to think creatively and is educational.
Family Time
LEGO® Super Heroes are a fun way to get the entire family to play in the land of make-believe. Even adults can have fun designing their own superhero!
For fun, what superhero powers would your family love to have?
Big Brother: Super Speed and Time Travel
Little Sister: To Fly
Hubby: To Fly and Super Strength
Me: Teleportation

Legos are so fun! We recently learned about stop motion and the kids had a ton of fun with it. Now that they have a device with a camera themselves I’m sure they will be making more videos like y’all did. Great job! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you 🙂 Yes, my son has made so many already! It’s fun for them to be able to make their own mini movie.
