Kids New Year’s Glasses Craft & Drink Idea
My kids & I absolutely love the New Year’s Glasses we made last year and the year before, so of course we had to make them again for 2013. This year we made them sparkle with glitter glue sticks and sequins!
For slightly different versions, check out the 2012 glasses they made with their friends at last year’s ‘Countdown to Noon Year’s Party’ as well as my son’s 2011 New Year’s Glasses.
I bought a giant pack of foam glasses from Walmart a few year’s back. They came with foam stickers to decorate them with, but they could be decorated with all kinds of things. I made the numbers for the year from craft foam (affiliate link) that I purchased at the dollar store. This year I just used regular white school glue to attach them to the glasses with, but in the past years I have used a hot glue gun. The glue gun works better because it dries faster and the numbers don’t slide all over the place like they tend to do with the white glue.
We also attended a pre-New Year’s get together at our friend’s house a few days before. My friend bought them Sparking Apple Cider & Sparking Grape Juice to drink. I lined their cups with edible silver sprinkles to make them more festive-looking. Last year, I made my son & his friend adorable New Year’s Smoothies with colorful sprinkles.
