Eric Carle Inspired Craft for Kids
Whoo’s birthday is it this month? The much loved children’s author Eric Carle! We have been busy reading his books and even made some crafts.
The illustrations in his books are made with a collage technique using tissue papers that he creates by painting layers. Using his style of art as inspiration, the kids and I made fun, colored animals to go along with the book The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse.
*This post contains Amazon affiliate links to the book.
Want to know how we made the animals? Head on over to the Gummy Lump blog to read our Crafty Blogger post which has the instructions including the fun items we used to make the painted textures. The owl is just a sneak peek, w also made a puppy, fish, elephant, butterfly, and a bunny.
