How To Make Sparkly Pumpkins
Making the glitter pumpkins is easy! If you are allergic to glitter (haha, you know what I mean), then it’s best to take this Halloween activity outside. You’ll also need a sheet of paper (or a baking sheet/craft tray) for catching the glitter that doesn’t stick to the pumpkin.
Divide the pumpkin into different sections with a marker. Start by painting glue over one of these sections. Using a paintbrush makes it a great prewriting activity for preschoolers!
Take your 1st color of glitter and shake it over the glued area on the pumpkin. Make sure to have a sheet of paper underneath. Carefully roll the paper up to add it back into the glitter jar/container. For an even easier way to do this, add a funnel to the glitter jar and pour the pour the glitter from the paper in that way. Kids usually love doing this part just as much as shaking it on!
Repeat these steps using different colors of glitter until the entire pumpkin is covered. That’s it! Easy peasy 🙂
We happened to have glitter spiders on hand that I thought would be fun to display with our glitter pumpkin and make it extra sparkly.
