Polly’s Pink Pajamas
We read the book Polly’s Pink Pajamas which is about a little girls who always wears….you guessed it – pink pajamas! She is invited to a birthday party and therefore is worried that she doesn’t have anything nice to wear. she sets out to borrow items from different friends until she has a complete outfit. When she gets home and looks in the mirror she realizes some are too small, too big, and so on. She ended up being worried for no reason because it was a pajama party! Little Sister loved the book and thought it was silly.
It just so happens that her favorite pajamas that she wears all the time are pink…..with Dora on it of course! The year before her favorite pj’s were a blue Dora set.
Design Your Own Pink Pajamas!
As a craft to go along with this book, Little Sister decorated pink pajamas on a page from our Create-a-person pad.
To create the pajamas, I placed a sheet of white paper over the person and sketched a shirt and pants. Then, I cut it out and traced around it on a sheet of pink construction paper. Little Sister used pink stickers to decorate them. The stickers make a great fine motor activity.
More Pink Books for Preschoolers
We also read My Pretty Pink Alphabet Purse. It’s shaped like a purse and even velcros shut! She loves to carry it around by the handle. The book takes you on a journey through the alphabet naming all the pink things you might find in a purse. Super cute!
Another cute pink-themed book Little Sister enjoyed was called, Ballet Kitty. Ballet Kitty puts on all her pink things, but can’t find her pink ballet shoes. She thinks that she won’t be able to have fun without them. Her friend comes over to play so she ends up wearing her tennis shoes. They danced and had so much fun that Ballet Kitty realized that she didn’t need her ballet slippers after all. We both loved this book and definitely recommend it!
