The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
This popular children’s book is a must read! Kids follow the Very Hungry Caterpillar as he eats his way through the book. It engages kids with holes they can stick their fingers in for counting. Each page adds a new hole and a new day of the week – making it a great introductory to the different names each day has (i.e. Monday, Tuesday, and so on).
Ten Little Caterpillars by Bill Martin Jr.
This counting book introduces kids to the natural world through illustrations. The tenth caterpillar waits patiently…. can you guess what happened to him?
