Playing with bubbly soap foam is so much fun! Have you tried it yet?
The kids had a friend over who loves doing crafty activities with us. We browsed our Sensory Exploration Fun Pinterest board and decided on this awesome Kool-aid foam recipe from Growing a Jeweled Rose. Her photos are amazing! You’ll love how easy it is to make. All you need is dish soap, an electric mixer, Kool-aid (optional), water, and a bowl big enough for mixing.
The Kool-aid made our foam smell yummy! We used cherry, grape, and lemonade flavored packets. Next time we make this, I plan to just use food coloring because there are more color options.
The kids were excited to play with the bubbly soap foam and had a hard time staying patient while I mixed all the colors. I placed the foam mixture inside our water table and then took it outside for the kids to play with. This way I didn’t have to worry about foam being flung or making a mess.
They enjoyed feeling how fluffy it was and loved running their fingers through it, scooping it, and smelling it. Little Sister even tried to blow bubbles with it.
Cleanup was easy because it rinses right out.
This post is part of a Summer Survival for Moms of Boys series hosted by The Joys of Boys.
Everyday for 10 weeks there is a new post based on that week’s theme: traveling with boys, fun food ideas, outdoor activities, water play, science, and lots more! Even though these posts are geared towards boys, they are suitable for girls too as you can see my little princess having a blast playing with the boys. She tends to be the only girl at most of our artsy playdates.
