I just love all the scavenger hunt ideas I have been seeing around the web and thought it would be fun to try one with my toddler. I decided to make a Color Scavenger Hunt Activity for him.
To do this, I cut colored squares from construction paper and glued them to paper lunch bags. I used a black marker to write the colors in English above the squares and in Spanish below the squares.
On to the hunt!
I lined all the bags in a row. My little guy knows all his English colors and only half the Spanish ones so I wanted to focus on finding the items using the Spanish color names only. It was a total success too! After finishing the activity he knew all but cafe (brown) and I got the cutest video of him in the learning process.
I helped him find colored items around our home and he had fun finding the correct bag to “match” them in. Before he put the items in the bag, he had to say the color in Spanish. When we were finished, we took out all the items and placed them in front of the bags. It was neat to see how much stuff we found!
